The News With Sherlock


So this week in the News we have an addition to the cast of the upcoming show The Arrow and in other news NBC’s The Office has announced that it’s ending in 2013 after a 9 season run.


THE ARROW



The new cast member albeit only a temporary thing is Jessica De Gouw who is set to play the Huntress, another well-liked DC character. The particular version of the Huntress being portrayed is apparently to be Helena Bertinelli – who debuted in the comics in 1989. De Gouw is set to play The Huntress for a multi episode story arc as a potential love interest for.

The official character description that has been released is as follows;
“Helena is a potential love interest for Oliver Queen; a fellow vigilante, set on destroying her father’s organised Crime Empire. But Helena’s blind pursuit of revenge will put her on a collision course with the Arrow”

The premise of The Arrow is a new reinvention of the well loved DC character. Olive Queen returns home after being stranded on far-flung island for half a decade. Upon his return home he embarks on a war on crime utilising his new set of lethal skills.


The show premiers on The CW on October 10th, 8pm US Time. 



THE OFFICE



So after 9 seasons of The Office NBC is set to pull the plug and end the show in 2013. An adaption of Ricky Gervais’s sitcom of the same name, it ends with close to 200 episodes of air time.
With Steve Carell at the helm for most of the first seven seasons, the brilliant comedy’s cast currently includes Rainn Wilson, J. Novak, Angela Kinsey, Paul Liberstein &Oscar Nunez as well as a handful of others.

Season 9 will also bring 2 newcomers; Jake Lacey and Clark Duke.
Executive Producer Greg Daniels will be returning for the final season as showrunner full time. Daniel’s has said although while plans for the season are this stage still being formed he’d like to have the pilot’s director Ken Kwapis return for the ending episode.

Also depending on scheduling Steve Carell may make a final appearance as Michael Scott.
Although fans need not be to broken hearted over the announcement seeing NBC will be launching a spinoff titled The Farm, which will follow Rainn Wilson’s Dwight Shrute and his family.




Well guys that’s the news for the moment.  Later on this week we’ll have a review of the second episode of Grimm up as well as a review on the season 3 final episode of The Glades.
